The constraint in this sector

In public spaces the ground is already finished

A playground has safety surfacing. A square has block paving. A flower bed has tree roots. Digging a hole for a footing means demolishing something that has already been paid for, or damaging a tree.

The screw goes through a hole the size of its shaft and stops below: around it, the paving stays as it was. And when the furniture needs replacing or the area is redesigned, it is unscrewed and the hole closes up.

It is the same reason it works on the lawn of a private garden: T-Block® does not need volume, it needs ground.

Inclusive playground: the anchors show through holes in the safety surfacing, which was not demolished.

Where it is used

Five families of furniture with the same problem (staying put without being set in concrete) and five ways of solving it.

Garden play equipment and playgrounds

Swings, slides, climbing frames and combination units, anchored without footings. The equipment can be replaced or moved without relaying the safety surfacing.

  • Strong, removable anchoring
  • On grass, soil and safety surfacing
  • Quick replacement when worn

Benches, planters and bollards

Furniture fixed to the ground where it needs to be stable but not permanent: flower beds, seafronts, school yards, rest areas. It can be repositioned when the layout of the space changes.

  • Repositioned without demolition
  • No visible concrete kerb
  • Compatible with permeable paving
Cross base of a large garden parasol on the lawn: in the centre, the T-Block ground screw that holds it in place instead of concrete ballast.

Parasols, gazebos and pergolas

Covers for gardens, outdoor seating areas and public spaces. The screw works in tension: it holds the structure down from below, instead of ballast that takes up space and is visible.

  • Instead of ballasted bases
  • Adapts to existing profiles
  • On sloping ground too

Fences and gates

Fence posts for gardens, green spaces, residential blocks and public spaces. No trench along the line: each point is screwed in one by one, even between roots and on slopes.

  • Short installation times even in difficult conditions
  • Hot-dip galvanized for outdoor use
  • Light and heavy fences

Shelters and public canopies

Rest shelters, canopies for car or bicycle charging stations, park shelters: public structures that carry panels and must stay put in the wind. Screw foundations go into the park soil without footings and the ground goes back to how it was.

  • Also with a solar roof
  • No excavation in the green area
  • The structure can easily be moved if the park layout changes
Carports and canopies: all applications

A parasol that stays put, with no ballast

A made-to-measure parasol holder: the base screws into the lawn and the parasol slots in on top. At the end of the season it is unscrewed and no trace is left in the lawn.

Why it pays off for street furniture

Removable, reversible works

Structures anchored with screws rather than concrete often fall into the category of temporary or light installations, which simplifies the permit process.*

Installed in a few hours

The screws are driven in with manual or mechanical equipment. No waiting for concrete to cure: the structure is ready for use straight away.

Removal without a trace

At the end of their service life, or when the space is redesigned, the screws are unscrewed and the ground stays intact. No concrete residue to break out and dispose of.

* How the works are classified for planning purposes depends on local regulations and on the project: check with your designer and your local authority.

Which T-Blocks you need

For light furniture (play equipment, benches, planters) the T1 and T3 classes are mostly used. For parasols and canopies, where the load is uplift and wind, the choice depends on the soil: the check is made on the project.
