DIY installation guide

4 simple steps

The cross base of a parasol laid on the lawn with the four screws beside it: it works as a template to mark where they will go.
1

Mark out

Mark the installation points with chalk. Use a spirit level to check the ground.

The four T-Block ground screws driven into the lawn at the marked points, with the cross base laid alongside.
2

Drive in the screws

Set the screw on the mark and turn it in by hand with a socket and T-handle (up to the T6 series). The T7 requires a high-torque driver.

A spirit level resting on the arm of the base, between the heads of the screws already installed, to check it is level.
3

Level and adjust

Once the screws are in, adjust the height by turning the levelling wrench. Check with a spirit level along each side.

4

Fix the structure

Fix the posts of the structure onto the screw heads. Your foundations are ready to build on.

Why ground screws suit DIY

Removable works

No permanent masonry in the ground: the permit process is often simpler.* Always check with your local authority.

Easy to install

No specialist contractor needed. With basic tools and a friend, anyone can do it.

Quick

A weekend is enough to have your foundations ready. No waiting for concrete to cure.

Removable

Change of plan? Unscrew them and reuse the screws on a new project. They leave no trace in the ground.

Cost-effective

Foundation costs are generally lower (−30/50%). You save even more by doing it yourself.

Low impact

No concrete, no polluting run-off. A sustainable foundation for your green projects.

* How the works are classified for planning purposes depends on local regulations and on the project: check with your designer and your local authority.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install the foundations for a garden shed or a deck myself?
Yes. Up to the T6 series they are screwed in by hand, with a socket and a T-handle; the T7 requires a high-torque power driver. For a garden shed, two or three people are enough.
How many screws does a deck or platform need?
Decks and platforms use T3 or T4 on a close grid, one point every 1.5-2 m. The exact number depends on the dimensions: tell us about the project and we will tell you how many screws you need and which models to use.
How do you anchor a gazebo to the ground?
With T-Block T4, from 4 to 9 screws depending on the size of the gazebo. No ballast and no concrete.
Do I need a permit for ground screws in the garden?
The screws are not permanent masonry work in the ground, and the procedure is often simpler. How the work is classified under building rules, however, depends on the project and on local regulations: always check with your local authority or your appointed technician.
What if one day I want to move everything?
Unscrewed, the screws leave no trace in the ground. They can be reused in a new project.
